Republican Post Mortem
OK, considering the entire country, election night wasn’t so bad. But Connecticut was a bloodbath. Republicans you have some problems to address.
OPEN THE CIRCLE. I already discussed on the Lee Elci show, as a call-in, that the Connecticut GOP is a closed circle. Two examples: the convention and a picnic At the convention I sat in the guest area two hours waiting for the fun to start, watching some young men wander around looking interested. No one spoke to them. Democrats, on the other hand, would have people recruiting visitors. Someone would have welcomed those kids, gotten their names and towns, and their local committee would call and invite them to a picnic, a meeting, something. Leftists simply crush you to their bosoms with joy to see you.
The picnic: no one to direct visitors coming off the main road to a side road and then a narrow country road with a sign screaming private. I had to assume that I was either in the right place or going to crash a private party. No warm welcome awaited intrepid off-roaders. Do I have to tell you what the Democrats and leftists would have done? Open your circle Connecticut Republicans.
GET AN ENERGY PLAN. Yes, we need oil, coal, and natural gas, but people who vote for Democrats love the idea of medieval windmills and solar panels and batteries that need rare earth minerals mined by children in third-world countries. (So much for science or compassion, Dems.) GOP, take the lead and get on board with plasma. The fourth stage of matter. Check out the picture of the first page of a general report I worked up this spring.
RETIRE THE PARTY CHAIR. The Connecticut GOP needs new leadership. Anyone who oversaw this bloodbath needs a break. Find someone who will lead and knows how to bolster morale. You must have a submariner who fits the bill.
LEARN TO PLAY POKER. Congressional Republicans completely tipped their hand for months before the election. Being gleefully promised investigations and impeachments galore only hardened Democrat resolve not to lose power.
THE MEDIA. Distinguish between freedom of the press and election tampering. We have a case in Connecticut where it appears a media outlet put its thumb on the scale. The candidate’s lawyer has notified the newspaper. Follow this Republican’s lead or the media will bury the GOP.
