Listen Up!

It’s easy to understand why the Democrats can’t hear. They don’t care what we think. Instead, they want to tell us what to believe. Dick Blumenthal and Chris Murphy don’t even pretend to be interested in our ideas and wishes. Don’t believe me? Try calling their offices. No human beings snatched up the receivers the last time I checked. Joe Courtney has pleasant staff who will listen, but they either don’t give Joe his phone messages, or he doesn’t read them. I guess packing up the D.C. candy to take home keeps him too busy to actually listen.

Can Ned Lamont hear us? I don’t think he could, even if he wanted to. Lamont is so deeply embroiled in scandals and corruption, he has to stay the party course. Having been either foolishly greedy or set up - or both - Lamont can’t walk away and let the chips fall where they may.

Will Mike France listen to us once he goes to Congress? Yes, he will. As a submarine officer, Mike knows that gathering input is vital to mission success; and he has lived the truth that every crew member has an important role to play. (By the way, does anyone actually believe that when Joe is sent packing, Connecticut will suddenly not get any more Washington money? That France, a former Naval officer and submariner, will not be able to find his way among federal military contracts and dollars? To quote an infamous person: “Come on, man!”)

Since Blumenthal, Courtney, and Murphy can’t and won’t hear, let’s send them a loud message in November: bon voyage.
