The Media, Abuse of Women, and Hunter Biden's Laptop Revisited
Update to post November 21, 2020
Now that everyone admits that Hunter Biden’s laptop is authentic and the contents have been used as evidence in a trial, let’s revisit a discussion of how much the media cared about the women on the laptop.
What a dystopian world we live in. Inflation isn’t inflation, because Joe Biden said so; a woman is undefinable, but women’s rights are important; yada, yada, yada. And don’t ask the slavish mainstream media to challenge the narrative. Maybe a lot of them don’t know how. Let’s have a quick lesson.
Many months ago, the New York Post published pictures of Hunter Biden in a hotel with a prostitute. The material had been verified, but the media wonks accepted the government narrative of Russian disinformation and averted their eyes. Some easy analysis of the picture would have raised many important questions that would have helped reporters discover if the laptop really was disinformation. Getting some answers may even have helped a young woman escape a dangerous life she may not have chosen.
Lee Elci allowed me to ask those questions on his radio show in June 2022 and again last week. Let’s run through that discussion one more time.
Who is the woman in the picture? Is she an American? Is she a citizen of a friendly country or of an adversary? Is she an agent? Seems like it would be important to know who has blackmail information on the President’s son.
Look at the woman’s leg. Are those dark areas on her upper hip and lower leg bruises? If so, how did she get hurt? Did someone beat her up? If so, who hurt her and why? Are the dark spots needle marks? If so, does she inject drugs by choice, or has she been forcibly addicted to make her compliant? Did she bring the drugs? Where did she or he get them? Who does she work for? If she is not American, who brought her to the US and how? How did Hunter find this particular woman to contract for sex?
In order to ask these questions and conduct a real investigation, we have to care about women in general and about this woman in particular. Oh yes, and we have to care about the truth no matter how inconvenient.
The good news is that the house Republicans are investigating Joe Biden’s business deals, which may include human trafficking. Maybe this woman is connected to those deals and maybe the committee will find the answers to the questions the media should have asked the minute they saw her in this picture.
Reporters, journalists, and commentators, I dare you to read the new laptop report and to watch the committees’ press conference, so that you can stop saying the house Republicans are investigating Hunter when they made it clear that they are investigating Joe Biden. In other words, I dare you to do your job, because right now, you are the danger to democracy.
