Triangles in Triangles? Fauci, Baric, and Daszak

The government stopped gain of function research in 2014, because it was too risky. In 2017, a number of sources claim, Anthony Fauci decided to fund GOF despite the moratorium. Some of this money seems to have filtered through Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance on its way to China’s Wuhan Institute. Apparently, however, Daszak was in communication with Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina, who worked with the coronavirus expert at the Wuhan Lab. Who is Baric?

From 2011 onward, Ralph Baric either wasn’t producing publishable material, or his work was classified. Baric has publicly boasted that he has high clearances. In July of 2021, Baric claimed that “they” never made a super virus, but “questions have dogged Baric since 2014, when he became the reluctant spokesperson for gain-of-function research after the NIH declared a moratorium on such experiments until their safety could be assessed, temporarily halting his work.” 1.

in October and November of 2021, Baric received two awards for his work. According to the public announcement for the North Carolina award, Baric’s research “pioneered COVID-19 treatments, including the drugs remdesivir and molnupiravir.” Remdesivir is Anthony Fauci’s controversial drug that was tested on foster children in the 1990s and criticized by the WHO in November of 2020, a year before Baric’s awards. This June of 2022, before Fauci’s supposed retirement, Baric’s lab received a grant for $65 million from the NIAID to develop antivirals. 2.

Recently news of a lawsuit against Baric and Daszak has been splashed all over the internet. I don’t know if there is a legitimate case or not. Anyone can file a suit for anything. But Baric’s discussion of profiting from pandemics raises eyebrows. 3.

Certainly, any congressional committee that investigates the Wuhan Lab leak should call Baric to testify, and maybe they should look into a very contagious virus that swept through the Raleigh Research Triangle in August/September of 2016. No one seemed to know what it was, and though distressing, it wasn’t fatal, so people were told to go home and rest. Some just slept for a few days; others hacked and coughed for a week or two. The two viruses may not be related, but it doesn’t hurt to investigate.
