Friday Roundup
A note: This blog began as a discussion of books, but after Biden killed thirteen military service members by self-centered recklessness, I decided to focus on getting Biden’s boys out of office. I don’t get paid to write, no one asks me to write for them, or to call in to Lee Elci’s radio program (94.9 FM, CT). My website is not monetized. I’m not looking for a job or favors. I honestly believe that Bob Stefanowski will make an effective, honest, commonsense governor, and that Mike France is ready to go to Washington, having proven himself in the military and the state government. So, please read and repost, share, shout this blog from the rooftops. We need change.
On to the round up.
Ensuring Access to Abortion Act.
Prevents states from passing laws to keep women from leaving their state to get an abortion. What grand, yet tired, political theatre. Get a new game, Democrats. I learned this one in my highchair. Restricting the citizens’ right to move about is a Democrat tactic, as you may recall from recent history. In fact, many Democrat activists, commonly known as the media, screamed for mandates to keep us in our places. The Democrat governor of Rhode Island, Gina Raimondo, closed the borders of her state, but crossed them when Biden rewarded her with the position of Secretary of Commerce. Gavin Newsome of California once floated the idea of trying to keep residents from fleeing his state to escape high taxes.
Clearly, the Ensuring Access legislation is a grand play in Congress designed as fodder for headlines, political ads, and debates. '“My opponent,” a Democrat will sob or shout, “voted against women having the freedom to cross state lines.” A very handy tactic to muddy the waters if any Republican candidate brings up Covid restrictions. Can’t you just hear it? “You said you were against restrictions, but now you won’t vote against them when it comes to abortion!” Don’t get caught in that drama.
No Emergency Crude Oil for Foreign Adversaries Act.
Ted Cruz and cosponsors have a win/win here. First of all, it’s legislation that serves the American people, not the Bidens’ business partners in China. Secondly, it puts Democrats in the position they hope to put Republicans in with the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act, but by necessity instead of design. Democrats risk angering China if they vote for the bill. If they vote against it, Democrats are actively voting to give China our oil while we sit in the dark, counting our canned goods, huddled around a makeshift stove. One good thing could happen if the Democrats block this bill. Our kids won’t moan “Sardines again.” Instead, they’ll hang over our shoulders, drooling, while we open the can. But not for long. November is coming.
Good doggies.
Last week, I went to the Cops & Comfort Dogs program. If everyone had the attitude of these public servants, we would be so much better off. Meet some of the officers who were there: Piper, NYPD; Moose, Amherst College PD; Chase, Groton PD; Tomo, Worcestor PD, and Gracie, College of Holy Cross PD.
