Let's Focus

I think we’re getting distracted by the abortion debate. Yes, I know, it’s an important issue, but why spend time arguing right now? There’s no way to enlighten angry people who don’t or won’t understand the Constitution and/or the Supremes’ ruling. Why try to talk with deranged protestors, such as the one shouting that she was going to get pregnant just so she could have an abortion? Stop the hours of repeating ourselves; instead, call for referendums on abortion and let everyone express an opinion in the voting booth.

What should we focus on? Obviously, the 2022 election. As I pointed out, the Connecticut election is important for the nation. Clearly, Joe Courtney and Richard Blumenthal aren’t going to do anything that contravenes Biden’s policies. Normally, I would rip into them, but not today, because I’ve spent some time recently wondering about those two. Why are they watching -even helping with - the dismantling of their country? Joe Courtney writes about the Catholic mass cards he keeps on his desk, yet he does nothing to stop the fentanyl flowing over the border and the rape of immigrant children, to name just a few horrors. Dick Blumenthal was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but still did some good work as Attorney General. How could someone with enough money for life and a history of wanting to protect the innocent support Biden’s policies? People tell me not to think about them, but I do sometimes worry about two humans who have gone so wrong. (Democrats may now laugh at me.)

We also need to focus on school security. Time and again, murderers have walked through the front doors of schools and wreaked havoc. In Uvalde, the killer went through the front door, down the hall to room 111, and shot the kids. Then he went to room 112 to kill more children before returning to room 111. All of that took about four minutes. Four minutes, because the front door was not secured, allowing him to evade the armed officer following him. For the next hour or so, the killer fired an occasional shot, probably finishing off the wounded. Sickening. Are all the school doors in Connecticut secured? if not, we have the summer to secure the doors and add more security measures, too. No excuses.

So, the election and the schools: let’s get it done. Lives depend on it.
