Wild Fires, Climate Justice, and Military-Aged Male Migrants
On September 20th, Joe Biden issued an executive order to establish a climate corps. Instead of reinstating former government projects that worked well, he rang the climate social justice bell:
“The American Climate Corps will mobilize a new, diverse generation . . . will focus on equity and environmental justice – prioritizing communities traditionally left behind . . . prioritizing . . . the Administration’s Justice40 goal. . .calling on Tribal, State, and local governments, labor unions, nonprofit service allies, the private sector, and philanthropy to collaborate with the Federal government . . .” 1.
Does the new, diverse generation of Americans include illegal migrants pouring over the borders? Currently they get medical care, gift cards, cell phones, privileges, and monies that are denied American citizens. People of color are being thrown out of their schools, parks, and rec centers to accommodate illegal migrants. Veterans have to stand in line behind them. It wouldn’t be surprising if illegal migrants are at the head of the line for the Climate Corps jobs.
So far, 80 people will be trained in forest and fire management. Really? For millions of acres? And who will these happy few direct? It takes an army of people to manage forests neglected for decades.
An army . . . where are all the young men of military age who have come over the border? We know that some of them are busy assaulting police offices in NYC, but we also see reports about migrant training camps. Easier to hide thousands of military-aged migrants in the millions of acres forest fires have “cleared” in remote areas of the US and Canada. Hard to see what’s going on there.
Call me cynical, but the inclusion of tribal lands in Biden’s program rings warning bells. The federal government has never shown much interest in the problems on western reservations. Hence, decades of articles about gang violence on native land. In 2006, the New York Times reported that Mexican drug gangs operated on the reservations, because they did not stand out and could operate with impunity on sovereign land. If you’ve been to the western reservations, you’ve seen thousands of empty acres that are perfect for training camps, and law enforcement and reporters can be denied access. 2
Make me look foolish nay sayers. Just tell us all where all those military-aged men are.
